North-East Regional Development Agency / Agenția pentru Dezvoltare Regională Nord-Est

Agenția pentru Dezvoltare Regională Nord-Est is a non-governmental, non-profit organization aimed at reducing regional disparities by promoting economic, social, and cultural development in the North East Region. It operates under the guidance of the North-East Regional Development Board (RDB), which serves as the regional deliberative authority, composed of county representatives and attended by non-voting prefects. The RDB coordinates the Agency's activities, oversees regional development policies, and ensures fair allocation of the Regional Development Fund, setting project priorities and selection criteria. The Regional Development Board, chaired by a president and vice-president from different counties, meets to make decisions by simple majority. The inaugural meeting took place on November 20, 1998, leading to the approval of the Agency's operational regulations. The current president of the RDB is Mrs. Ionela Cristina Breahnă Pravăț, from Bacau County Council. The Agency also provides secretarial support for the Board's activities.
